The Cherai beach is on every tourist's
itenary. A fun place to be, its ideal for swimming, and you
can get to see dolphins sometimes. Bordering on Vypeen Island
and the Bolghatty Island, it is 25 km from the Ernakulam city.
The Bolghatty Island attracts tourists from all over the world.
The Bolghatty palace constructed by the Dutch in 1744 was later
taken over by the British. Now the palace has been converted
into a hotel by the tourism department of Kerala, with a small
golf course and a few honeymoon specials.
The Cherai beach, though a tourist spot
retains its serene and unexploited natural beauty. A must
visit beach. Paddy fields and coconut trees beautify the place
even more.
